Installation Attack Scenario
I have deliberately have not included any points values, try the
game using different amounts (as a guide, the base calculates out to
be 483 points).
Naval Outpost
- The naval base is built on the surface of a large asteroid, it's
power generation, shield generation and fighter facilities are buried
far below it's surface. The surface batteries are in shielded areas
on the surface of the planetoid. Each surface battery is treated
as a simple vessel in it's own right, any elements in each surface
group (A-Bat,FireCon & PDAF) are checked for when that group reaches
a threshold check as normal.
Surface Troops
- The main vulnerability of installation is to surface troops (Grav
AFV's and Power armour). Surface troops once landed are handled
as a fighter group but ignore the installations shields. The installations
PDAF in each group may be used against surface forces attacking
said group. Surface troops may be dropped from suitable transports
within 8" of the planetoid. They are launched and landed in one
move during the fighter movement phase. Each lander from the standard
assault transport carries one such surface element, for purposes
of this scenario each transport only has 2 units aboard. Surface
units may be targeted from space only by fighters which require
a six to do a point of damage. Ground units may choose to defend
themselves against fighters and always counts as 1 PDAF in this
mode.
Notes
- This installation is obviously intended to be the focal point
of a scenario and we assume that the attackers wish to capture the
main underground portion un-damaged so we've not taken into account
it's damage values, only those of it's surface defences. Once the
surface batteries are destroyed and there are attacking surface
forces remaining, it is assumed captured.
